SMS Giveaway #2 - Handmade 241 Tote

Welcome to my second giveaway for the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!  The 241 Tote is one of my favourite bag patterns, and this one is made in some Spring/Summer fabrics for one of you!  It has a zippered exterior pocket, magnetic snap closure, two inside slip pockets, and is made with a mixture of designer fabrics.

Want to win this 241 tote for yourself?  I love online shopping, and thought I'd ask you all a question about it: what kind of purchases have you had success with buying online or is there a particular store you would recommend?

For a second entry, become a fan of my Facebook page or follow me on Twitter.  Just leave a second comment telling me which one you did.

Winner will be picked by random.org on May 25 after 5pm PST.  Will ship international.  Good luck!

Wow I just finished making one of these for me but would love to have another - especially as it's very different from mine. Online shopping? Best for me is fabric from the US (I'm in the UK) as it's much cheaper and service is so speedy! thanks for the chance to win

I buy most of my fabric on line and it is usually successful. I've had two bad experiences and they were both with small stores, one on Etsy and one that I just saw on a blog. In the first my credit card was misused. The second didn't send me all the fabric I paid for. Sad... as I am sure most small stores are honest.

I'm fortunate that most of my online purchases have been very successful. Amazon is the go-to for many things, and I can find obscure and/or inexpensive books at half.com.

For fiber-y stuff, I'm a fan of elann.com for yarn.

Shirley said... #

What a lovely bag. I've only bought one thing online. A book.

J said... #

I hate to say it, but honestly, 90% of my online shopping is at google. I've bought everything there from kitchen gadgets, to drapes, to TVs, to tea, jewelry, inline skates and well, nearly everything. I almost just purcahsed my first fabric from them but found a better deal elsewhere. I tend to feel like if I'm shopping online, then I go with the best deal. If I can get it locally for not too much more and not too much hassle, I will. I have amazon prime, so it's hard to not say yes to shopping on my lunchhour online and receiving it on my doorstep two days later.

This is kind of random but I have great success buying vitamins online. I rarely shop online because I like to 1) see the product in person first and 2) support local businesses. But I have some weird vitamin requirements (they must be vegetarian AND gluten-free - you'd be surprised how many vitamins out there do not fit one or the other requirement) so rather than traipsing to 10 or 20 stores to find something that fits the bill, it's much easier to order online.
