little bird applique...

For Mother's Day this year, my hubby told me to order some fabric that makes me happy. I took advantage of the Pat Bravo prints for sale at Sew Sisters, and received five yards of beautiful fabric in the mail. Two of these got cut into for a bag for a birthday girl.

I used my own tutorial found here. And added a sweet little bird appliqué using my new die cut from Accuquilt. I'll have to come up with some more ideas using birds, because they are so cute!

Back to wrapping up school around here, working at my new job (!), and look out for a tutorial of mine being published on the Bear Creek Quilting blog soon!

Life this week and doll sewing...

Things have been busy with the end of the school year approaching - Sports Day, fieldtrips, my baby going to kindergarten day, and lots of sunshine to enjoy. I did sew up a quick raincoat for one of my girls' 18" dolls and need to order some more laminate prints to make some for my other girls still.

I've also been working on a sewing tutorial for the Bear Creek Quilting Company blog with these two beautiful fabric collections, can't wait to share it!
