my month to host the Joy circle . . .

April is my month to host the Joy circle from Do Good Stitches.  I chose the Interlocking Seasons quilt block tutorial from the Parfait Cafe.  For the colors, I went with pinks, purples, and peach.  It was an easy block to make, just a little time consuming.  Assembly line piecing worked great, and I stitched my two blocks this afternoon.

I'm looking forward to receiving the rest of these blocks in the mail and putting this one together!  It will be donated to a cancer patient.

bee blocks and a winner . . .

So I managed to squeak a bit of time into my craft room today to do some mending and a couple bee blocks for the Joy circle.  This month, we were asked to make double snowball blocks in blue and yellow, with an i-spy center.  Looking forward to seeing this quilt finished in our flickr group!

And I picked a winner for the Nancy Drew fat quarters . . .

Congratulations to Minding Momma!  I'll send you an email.

Enjoying our Spring break . . .

We have been on Spring break over here - getting together with friends, doing crafts, time in the backyard, and spending some rainy afternoons cuddled up on the couch with a movie.  We also received an Easter basket in the mail from Kinder® filled with lots of goodies including an egg decorating kit.  My kids had a lot of fun painting them - and the best part is that since the eggs are plastic, they can fill them with little treasures and re-use them.

Kinder has some great new items for Easter, you can check them out on their Facebook page.  And for every new member on their Facebook page right now, they will be donating $1 to Children’s Miracle Network, up to $25,000!

Disclosure: I’m part of the Kinder® Mom program and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Nancy Drew blog hop and Giveaway

Today is my day in the Nancy Drew blog hop!
I had a lot of fun playing with my Nancy Drew fabrics
and made a little book bag.

It's the perfect size for toting around a few favorite mysteries . . .

And since this is a Nancy Drew bag, it had to include a special pocket for a notebook and pen - absolute musts for little detectives.

And a special hiding spot in the back . . .

I hope you enjoyed my little creation!  THANKS for stopping by!

I have three extra fat quarters of Nancy Drew fabric to give away - just leave a comment below!

And here are the rest of the stops for today:

Fisher-Price Million Moments of Joy Contest

Today I'd like to share part of my daily life with you.  This is the first school year that I have some days with just one little one left at home.  And I am seriously HeadOVERheels for this little man in my life.  He gives the biggest hugs, is the best snuggler, and gives me lots of laughs.  He loves to play hard, and then recharges with naps most afternoons.  And on the days that his kindergarten-sister has off, they actually get-along quite nicely - playing pretend, snuggling with a book, or teaming up in an effort to convince me to bake them cookies.  I still have days that I feel OVERstretched trying to meet all my children's and husbands' needs, but I am so thankful to have so many wonderful moments of JOY inbetween.

Fisher-Price is launching the Million Moments of Joy campaign which celebrates the REAL joys of parenthood. The real, honest-to-goodness, the good, and scary, the stressful, and the downright ridiculous moments we all experience!

As part of this campaign, they have launched a contest inviting you to share your favorite {OVER} moments.  Do you have a picture to share of being OVERdue, OVERtired, or OVERwhelmed?  Upload your photo (and caption) to www.fisherprice.ca/momentsofjoy  and enter to win one of eight awesome Fisher-Price prize packs valued at $200. Check out what’s included:

The contest will run until April 29, 2013 at 11:59:59 p.m and once you upload your photo and add a caption, you’re automatically entered into the contest.

Disclosure – I am participating in the Million Moments of Joy Blogger Campaign by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Fisher-Price. I received compensation as a thank you for participating and for sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.

little projects and giveaway winner . . .

I just have some little projects that I finished up in the past week to show you.
    A Bible/Psalter bag for a birthday girl . . .

    A long overdue gift - a Kindle cover and a tissue pouch . . .

And something for my little guy.  We have been struggling through afternoon church services lately because he's given up his 'between-service nap' and he would much rather be on a playground than sit still for another hour and a half.  I'm hoping this new cover and pop-up book will help keep him distracted . . .

And here's the giveaway winner for the Lady in Red bundle from Fabri-Quilt . . .

Congratulations Teresa!  I've already sent you an email.
