SMS Giveaway #3 - Baby/Toddler Quilt

I'm going to be hosting three giveaways for SMS Giveaway Day to say THANK-YOU for all the amazing online crafters that inspire me every day and all my wonderful and supportive followers!  I've also been blessed by winning a bunch of giveaways this past year, and want to spread the joy of giving!

So here's Giveaway #3 - this sweet little quilt is made from the Tweet Tweet line by Moda.  It's sure to make a special gift for a little one, or you can use it as a wallhanging in a child's room or the playroom.

To enter, just answer the question, what's your favourite handmade gift to give or receive?
And to thank all my followers (new & old), you can leave an extra comment for a bonus entry.

Open internationally.  Giveaway ends December 16th.  Winner will be picked by random.org.
Good luck!

What a lovely quilt! I know quite a few soon-to-arrive babies who would love it :) I love any gift especially made for the recipient, but for general gifts for everyone, I love baking treats every year for Christmas and packaging them up to give away!

The best gift I made was a little wallet for my son. He wanted a wallet so bad and I said I could make him one and he was so excited when it was finished!

Well, I've only given one quilt so far, but I've given many many cookies and candies each year. So, I'll say cookies this year, hopefully next year I will have many more quilty things done and given as gifts :)

Jessica Jo said... #

This year my favorite thing to give has been mug rugs. I have made 3 already and have 2 more in the works, all of which match mugs I bought at the local potter's guild. Hurray giving all the aunts and uncles the same thing!

Unknown said... #

I like handmade with yarn - crochet or knit things.

fieryone said... #

I like knitted or crochet stuffed because its something I cant do myself.

flashingreds said... #

I love to give homemade canned goods--pickles, jam, or jelly, usually. It takes time, but the result of one long day of work is many, many presents!

Most of the handmade gifts I've given recently were crocheted - my closest girlfriends will all be receiving a little crocheted something for Christmas, too.. but I'd love to make some mug rugs as gifts.

Oh gosh, don't know what my favorite is - they're all different; that's what makes them special! I like knowing someone's time went into something. I like giving little tea wallets, as they don't take much time (ha, paired with my previous comment! But they're good for last-minute "gosh, forgot about her!" gifts) and seem well-received. It's always fun to see someone using things you've made.

Cal said... #

From my daughter's birth, the gifts I most treasured were a quilt and a handmade layette. Those were extra special. I like to give baby blankets, simple quilts. I am planning one right now for the birth of a friend's baby.

The answer to the blog question is:
I'm not sure what's my favorite handmade gift to give or receive. To give, it would probably be knitted or crocheted items. I appreciate handmade items, so probably just about anything will do.
