sewing with stretch lace . . .

Sometimes I bring my daughters to the fabric store and let them pick out fabric for dresses or tops . . . and sometimes I walk out with a challenge. My oldest daughter picked out a cotton for a new dress and a stretch lace for the sleeves. I ended up going with a fitted dress pattern, and cutting the sleeves narrower, and then crossed my fingers. I just had to take in the sleeves a bit to make them a big narrower, but otherwise it turned out to be a good fit.

Now I've been putting off the next challenge for her . . . a lined fuzzy chenille bathrobe. Wish me luck!
