SMS Giveaway Day

Today is the Sew Mama Sew giveaway day! I have a charm pack of Moda's Bartholo-meow's Reef and four coordinating fat quarters to give away.

This giveaway is open internationally, and all you have to do is leave a comment below (please leave an email address if it's not linked to your profile). If you need a topic to comment on, I'd love some new craft links or ideas for my GEMS girls club, but any comment will do. I'll randomly select a winner at the end of the week.
Good luck!

Congratulations Nita - enjoy your prize!

When my daughter was younger we would cover band boxes with buttons/paint to make keepsake boxes, use fabric/trims to cover photo brag books for family members, create usable items using popsicle (generic name) sticks.

Project for little girls...Pink Penguin has some excellent tutorials, I particularly like the patchwork pouch and the fabric basket. The tutorials are super easy to follow so with a little help should be do-able.

I just read a craft book that suggested making decorated candles by taking paper (I think it was tissue paper that they had printed out by attaching it to a normal piece of paper when it went in the printer) and wrapping it around the candle and then using a blow dryer to slightly melt the wax so that the paper stuck.

Cute fabric! Fun kids craft - I decided to do some DIY wrapping paper with my son, so we taped brown kraft paper to the table and let him paint it. For an older kid I'd probably give them stamps (or even have them carve their own out of potatoes), glitter glue, all sorts of fun stuff like that.

Jacqueline Frances said... #

Hi there Rebecca,
I would get the girls to decorate flour sack towels. You could use fabric paint for the little ones, and maybe get them to paint a decorative border all around, or just along one edge, or they could print their name or 'to Mom'. The older girls could use fabric scraps, sewn on by machine, and decorated with a few buttons from your button jar.
Thanks so much for the giveaway,

Not sure if you're referring to a "ladies" or "little girls" club and if you all tackle big or tiny projects together, but I found these this week: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/49258189650314949/

And this they're so cute and totally a happy view on winter. These are knitted, but they'd be cute too if they're sewn, maybe even from old sweaters... I think everyone just needs lots of cozy plushes with scarves in winter... ;)And scrap busting, I always love that.

Otherwise I think So Sew Easy always has fun tutorials and patterns for ladies' clothes, bags and purses. Many things really. :) useable stuff.
