I used one of the built-in embroidery stitches on my machine for the handle, and my oldest daughter gave it as a birthday gift to one of her friends.
There is a second pattern for a wristlet clutch included in the Simplicity pattern, and I made one without the ruffle. It made for a very quick project.

I love the stitching on the handle. What a great idea.
No doubt the birthday girl will be very happy to receive her bag. The stitching on the strap is a great addition.
Very cute and I love the stitching you did on the handles. =)
I love how a simple bag goes from Plain Jane to Spectacular with the touch of a button on a sewing machine! What a great suggestion. I also love your choices for the fabrics - hip, chic and fun!

The stitching on the handle is a great idea. Perhaps a project for the future or as a gift.... :)
Love that stitching detail on the handle, fab way to use the decorative stitches on your machine
Wish I were the birthday girl! As everyone else, the stitching on the handle is just the perfect touch.
Both are really cute and both would make great gifts.
I'm vowing to do homemade gifts this year, either made by me or bought from others!
I've put a page on my blog with a linky in hopes that many will share home made posts and inspire me with lots of great ideas!
