I finished off the diamond quilt this week and gave it to the very special someone, my Oma. She has made so many beautiful knitted and crocheted projects for me over the years, and never complains when I send another pattern and more yarn her way. All of my children have 'Oma sweaters' for church, and she just recently made a beautiful Shalom sweater for me and a smaller version for Elayna. While making this quilt, I thought of her often, and all the times she put so much work into something for me.

What a wonderful gift for your beloved Oma! She must be so thrilled (and proud)!
Oh that's so nice. Thanks for sharing that special moment.
I'm tearing up a little here, Rebecca. The quilt turned out beautifully and I can see that she was touched. I saw her in church on Sunday... will she be here much longer?
that is a beautiful quilt for a special someone!! I'm certain she's going to love it. It's gorgeous.
A very 'warm love' quilt. Colors are so soft. Thank you for sharing a photo of your Oma in that special moment.
It's a lovely quilt. It's a blessing to have such a special relationship with your Oma.
Such a beautiful quilt - and definitely a labor of love!! Whoop whoop!!
I'm sure she'll cherish that quilt as much as you cherish the knitting/crochet she does for you. <3 The best gifts are the ones that show our love.
Making something for someone who has shown you so much love and giving, and then returning it to her would be enough to make this quilt beautiful - but it is gorgeous in its own right.
That is an amazing quilt - and obviously given to someone amazing. Did it really only take you a month to do (your post at the end of March shows you starting it?)
Beautiful quilt for your Oma! So sweet!
It is a beautiful quilt, and you are so lucky to be able to make it for her.
It looks great and it's even more special because of who you're giving it to.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
I'm sure that your Oma will love it! The quilt looks great. :)
It's a lovely quilt!
That's so nice!
I have an Oma too, & she used to make us "Oma Sweaters"! :)
